Hi @kwaping
I was in a situation similar to yours. The dive shop that i normally go to fill my tank has had compressor problems and i wasn't able to get fills to 4.5k psi.
The next closest shop was 2x the distance, and i knew this would soon get tiresome for me to refill every week. I asked around, and did my research on compressors, and had my doubts about the longivity of the cheaper models. I asked Mike of team Centercut what their team used, and he replied the team has been using an Omega Air Charger for several years without any problems and he highly recommended it. I was hesitant at first since it is a big purchase, but i decided to make the purchase. I purchased it from AOA, and it arrived yesterday. Had 1 little problem with an air bubble in the coolant lines that prevented the water pump from activating. But once that was fixed, the machine worked fine. I don't know how quiet it is compared to other compresors, but it wasn't that loud. The compressor comes with a rebuild kit, and from what i was told, is not difficult to work on.
My first fill of my tank from 2200 to 4500 psi took about 45min..and i bleed it off every 5 min. I think the newer models have an automatic bleed...but that wasn't to important to me.
filled all my rifles and refilled the tank.
I believe i made a right choice, but only time will tell
Wish you luck on your future compressor
Mike
