Second roof eater of the year, and boy did FT practice pay off!

Saw this young tree rat on a small tree close my garage this morning, 4th this year but 1 or 2 were extremely wary and ran away. This one is young and didn’t see the TikTok videos about not come near my yard.🤣 I turned around and grabbed my Crown ultra compact I was farting around with, originally I setup the gun with 380mm barrel for HFT or 20fpe but tuned it down to 11.5 for the yard.

Rested my left arm on the door frame and scanned the tree with scope. Found it hiding behind a branch with only its head visible, guess it felt sneaky looking at me sideways perfectly still. Ranged it at about 9 yards(a little blurry at 12x), my dope for 10 yards is 1.5 mils so framed the brain or the areas between the eye and ear at about 2 mils. Squeezed the trigger and thwack! It did the brain shot spasms and drop to the ground, then good 10 seconds of thrashing after. Now here is why I don’t like brain shots, it flopped over 20 feet into my neighbor’s front yard thanks to a slight down slope that way. Doh!!!!! It is semi high risk because the tree is right on the border of the properties. Waited till it was darker to ninja my way to retrieve the body……again! 🤣🤣🤣

The shot was perfect! Right in front of the ear or exactly where I aimed/doped at! These close shots are NOT easy and thanks to FT practices the shot was dead nuts on, about as satisfying as a shot can get for me!!!
