How many of you shoot straight through the winter?
I do but not as much . I use dumb excuses like the wind is blowing a bit to much OR it is colder than i like .OR the big one "i become an "arm chair shooter " the Lazy boy captures me .

I shoot throughout the winter, indoors and out and dream of Spring or Summer. The outdoor Winter sessions are of course, shorter. Sometimes extended via a hot water bottle.

Yup. Me too. The range in the basement gets much more use in the winter, but I still go out and do some offhand shooting at 25 and 50 yards.

I am fortunate to have a 15 yard range in the basement and I do venture outside in winter but my aging bones enjoy the other three seasons much more.

I still get my shooting in as long as it's not super windy. I can deal with cold, just not breezy cold.
I tend to do my customizing and stock work during the winter time, and testing/tuning in the basement range.

It's going to be 70 tomorrow I think. I am not envious of the North until July when the heat is unbearable.

Yes, I continue pesting year round, sniping from the back door with doggy boy looking on when he hears the action. Not a lot of shots at any one time, but enjoyable practice at varying ranges. If it's not rainy & wet, doggy boy assists me with retrieval. Southeast Va has relatively mild winters.

Thx for the xmas card Mike. I remember scenes like on the card. Loved being out there. I can't do that anymore. So I'm pretty much a fair-weather fella.

I shoot all year round. Layers and propane heaters keep me warm. Converted an ice shanty to a shooting shanty for warmer sessions. When it gets really bad I shoot indoors at my home or the range. Lucky enough to have two indoor shooting clubs near my house. Recently stepped up and purchased an MG1 for some serious ten meter shooting. Life is too short to miss trigger time!

We do at Diablo Rod and Gun Club. One field target and one silhouette match every month throughout the year. A covered, 3-wall building protects shooters and gear from the elements. Even the silhouettes are string-resettable so no one has to go out in the rain and the mud except the hearty soul Oakhonor and his followers who set up/tear down.
