Scuba tank or shoebox compressors (edit: shoebox like compressor)

Greetings of good health!

I am done with upgrades and harmonic tuning. The scuba tank is too much when shooting and hunting once a week with one tin of pellets per outing. I have an fx impact 600mm with PP and 125 bar at 860fps.

Refilling the scuba tank, setting my yongheng plus maintaining them both with drying tubes with charcoal and cotton, etc is to much work. Plus the water cooler.
The shoebox compressor (edit: generic tern for portable 12v) at the back of the car seems to be efficient, sufficient and less work to set up.
The issue of water getting into my fx bottle is manageable. A small moisture catcher and charcoal is enough to contain moisture to fill a .480l of bottle. Anyway, I will just replace it every 4years.

Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Not sure you know about it but Shoebox needs additional shop compressor to operate and I will choose to take tank over Shoebox everytime, just to much trouble with compressor in my opinion.

Maybe smaller tank will work better for you?

I will be taking care of the compressor, the tank and the fx bottle to keep them safe. I am thingking of taking away the tank and just keep a handy compressor and the fx bottle. Less hustle.

Altaros last report on Facebook

"At the end of this year, we have reached a new milestone. An Advanced Booster that we use in our workshop has been running for 4 years now and has filled the equivalent of 2,000 pieces of 4L bottles from 200 to 300 bar. The maintenance consisted only in lubricating and replacing the seal from 95% of that was the high-pressure piston seal. After the last upgrade, we achieve the filling of 100 bottles without the need for maintenance with this 4-year-old booster."

is there a website that i can go to for info on this advanced booster model ?

i'm familiar with there previous model, is the advanced model available to purchase ?

Its a shame to i use a shoebox and wish they would have stayed in business yong heng basically put them out of business i guess the shoebox is slow but steady

your right Bobby, i've had an F10 for about 2.5 years and its great.

when i heard the thought of shutting down i bought all the spare parts i could.

i have several other quick fill compressors but none are as trouble-free as the shoebox.

just recently got one of them xisico compressors and it seems like a good one. i have 4 hrs run time on it.

the last yongheng i had, i sold it with 17hrs and still chugging because i only filled guns with it like i do all the quick-fill compressors.

i might get one of them new umarex units as soon as time tells there story.

but the shoebox F10 still rules the roost.......👍

Hi!

Sorry for misleading you. I was using “shoebox” as generic term for 12v portable compressor of any brand.

https://www.altaros.cz/en/50-compressors

English is their second language but they're super helpfull and very nice to do buisness with.

I have got spares from them free of charge twise, even though the fault was my own and i admitted that freely when i asked for help.

My booster has something like 100hours on it and runs like a Swiss clock without issues so far.

They also has an external regulator for those nervous of overfilling their gun. It can be screwed directly into the tank DIN300 of put at the end of a fillwhip vith Foster fittings.

https://www.altaros.cz/en/airforce/89-external-airgun-regulator.html

I use that on my 9liter CF tank and shoots away without thinking of filling my Texan every three shots.

Hi!

After all the research, i ended buying this portable compressor.
I will make a review for everyone’s comments.
I’ve got a heads up from the seller: use it only on airgun tank with max capacity of .5L.

Pros: no need for oil or water cooling. Auto switch off at certain Temperature and Pressure.
