Scored on some Collared Doves today

Went to the one dairy farm that has given me free roam. I set up a quick blind with the primos tripod and the Cabellas stool. First time ever I followed suggestions about decoys being effective. Boy were they! I didn't shoot like they show at some grain elevators but I had fairly consistent action for two hours. I got 7 that I could recover and 2 that were out of reach. I did flat out miss 3 other shots.

Another first...first time I used the WC with the Donny Fl Koi on it. I had never heard the thump when a pellet impacts a bird before. Of course they flew off but came back fairly soon. I think the quietness of the rifle itself contributed to that.

The learning for me was set up a simple blind, I just had one of those camo tarps that are dirt cheap, and use some decoys. I forgot the wings on the one that's motorized and just used the stationary decoys. This is just a one time brief perception but I'd swear it really made a difference. The decoys also pulled in some Starlings.
