Scoping A Daisy 880

Hi all, this is my first post so I hope this is the right place for this question.

I have a Daisy 880 I would like to put the scope on that came with it, I know it's not the 

best. My question is how in the world would you feed a pellet into the chamber with the scope in the way

and having fat fingers.

Greetings, I'm new here also and don't claim to have any advanced knowledge of air guns, but I'm learning a lot reading this forum. However, I do have an 880 and can tell you how I load mine. I have to lay the pellet right next to the loading area exposed when the bolt is pulled back, then barely tilt the gun to the left and let the pellet roll in. Occasionally the pellet will flip around on me, and I have to tilt the gun to the right and let the pellet roll out into my hand and try again. Sometime the pellet will not be aligned just right, but if I slowly and carefully push the bolt forward it aligns before being seated in the breech.

Hopefully someone with a slicker process will reply shortly.

I have a .22 version (922), and just kinda’ roll it in with my thumb.

This one has a 3/4” 3-7x Tasco scope mounted. I prefer the smaller ID scopes on older-type guns. Just look more period correct to me.

Thanks guys for the idea I will try the roll method. I had thought about a pair of needle nose pliers but was thinking it would mess the pellet up.

I use that same Tasco scope on both Daisy 880 M/M and Daisy 35 (rifled) These work great!

Try shooting a Crosman 2100 for awhile and you will be grateful for the easy access to the loading port on your 880.

Much like the roll method above, but instead of letting the pellet roll in I placed it in the track and then slid it towards the track with my thumb. This way I kept control of the pellet all the time instead of letting gravity and luck take over.

I struggled with the stock scope. I find it helps to keep the chamber only half open, and then after the pellet is resting there I'll pull it back so that the pellet falls into place. I've now mounted a different scope with taller rings, which helped a little.

Loading pellets into the 880 is best done with the bolt slid a little forward to prevent the pellet from falling into the BB port and getting stuck there (a real pain).

I used this piccanny offset mount and Bugbuster scope. However, I still need to use the roll method or the tweezer to load. The Daisy 880 maybe the hardest to load of all my pumpers.
