I have the the 6x24x50mm. For the money they are good. I especially like the fine reticle. I also have a Hawke 8x 32. The Hawke is a better scope, but it should be @$200 more. The Aeon is a good scope for hunting, but I do not like the parallax error for serious target shooting.

Own the aeon 10-40x56 Target reticule and added a 5" sidewheel.
Better glass than the old (good) Bushnell elite 4200, better 10-55yard ranging (even on 12x) than the great old Nikko, or the elite or any Hawke. Also does NOT hit infinity until over 250 yards, most close focus scopes wont do that. I know three FT National champions that have changed to the aeon this year.
That said "I" am almost scared they might change something down the road, either price or quality, at least the 8-32 and 10-40 are well under priced for what they are. The lesser mag one I haven't tried.

Yes I own one along with a hawk... but the price between the two I really see no difference. Except lighted cross hairs.

Speaking of scopes, as with all things PCP, we're getting so much more in-depth with details. Can anyone explain to me what the purpose is of the 'sidewheel'? Some scopes have small ones, some very outrageously LARGE wheels. What is the purpose of the wheel, and advantage of larger sidewheels?

The purpose of the sidewheel is to make it easier to use your paralax focusing for distance measuring, as the sidewheel can be marked with the distance the scope is in focus. Then you can take that distance and if you know your pellet drop at that distance, work out the holdover or elevation clicks to hit your target. The larger the sidewheel, the more resolution you can get on your distance measurementsup to a certain point. That's what happens in air rifle field target when they approach targets at varying distances over a course that are unknown.

I have been very happy with my Aeon 6-24 x 50 scope and ordered a 2nd one. I just received a Hawke Airmax 6-25 x 50 in the mail yesterday and my first impression is WOW. I won't be mounting it until my new Matador comes in but it looks to be definitely better than the Aeon. I am surprise to be saying this, as I really like the Aeon . The Hawke Airmax is a much better scope worth the $100 dollars more that I spent. Optic Planet has scopes 12% off through Labor Day. I had to call in to get the discount. i tried to order it on line and it down graded it to 5%.
