Scope Video Preview

Joe That should save someone some regrets on what not to buy & this is the reason I always watch your vids. Honest- informative-humor- sure we will be seeing more of the same but it might be hard to beat. Have only been on the forum a short while, so just wondering have you ever done a review on the utg 4-16 AO ? Look likes you had a great time filming that one, I enjoyed watching as I do on all of them. Thank for all your hard work . Darell Love the dog in the background

Joe,

I find your posts entertaining but I can't take the "review" part too seriously.

You said:
"A friend of mine on airgun nation gave it to me..."
That statement and the appearance of the scopes outward condition would be my first clue that this sample is be a poor choice for an honest review. Or maybe the "review" was actually satire.

The Monstrum scope that you "reviewed" was obviously abused before you got it. I've never seen a scope in such bad condition. The turret bodies look like they were attacked with pliers, and the scope body looks like the rings were way over tightened. The need for a spanner to remove the batter cover is not present on their newer designs. That looks like an older model that is beat up. I would not buy it or use it if it was given to me.

That "sniper glare resistant cover" is a honeycomb sunshade. I actually prefer them to the longer tubular sunshade.

That parallax shift when adjusted to be out of focus is common to many scopes. On my Monstrum, parallax errors are non-existent when in sharp focus.

I plan on doing a review of their scope (purchased new). But it will wait pending more data. I'll be competing throughout the West Coast in the AAFTA Grand Prix and at the AAFTA Nationals, using this scope. If it's as bad as you say, I'll likely switch it out before the season is over. But my first take on it is that it will do the job. It looks like a good design, though it does have some QC issues.

Beer Can sorry , I looked thru one before but that hardly qualifies me to make a judgement. Im sure I will run up on one and try it out .
I have two other scope reviews filmed , just gotta edit them and upload them. Honestly it's the edting that takes the most time , so the videos don't seem so choppy .
Scotchmo wish you nothing but the best with your scope seriously ! My reviews are just my opinion, nothing more . But a One Year " Limited Warranty" ?? That alone would keep my money in my pocket .
Glad you guy are enjoying the videos
