Scope Swapping

sure that could be done but you would have to put them back where they came from mounting stops would help that on a dovetail

so if using just rings and not a weaver-picatinny mount it could, would, be harder

I have never tried it but hunter have taken off scopes for hunter trips before shipping for ever and would just test after reinstalling but again hunting and shooting paper is different

Get a good base / ring combo and go for it . My personal setup has been on more rifles and Airguns than I would want to count . I witness mark the grooves on the picatinny rail so I know where to put it . It will almost NEVER go back to exact perfect POI . Butitll get you within a couple clicks . My old Leupold FX3 12X was almost silver from being moved so much and held up like a champ

My Field Target ZM2002 kit has bayonet Leupold rings with cam lever lock-up. Whenever I do air travel I disconnect the scope and pack it in my suitcase with clothing padding. When I get to the competition, I remount on the rifle. Never had a problem.

I started doing this after Southwest airlines trashed out and broke the corner off my $300.00 SKB rifle case. Contents were ok but I still remove the scope for air travel.
