Scope sun shades

Does anyone know if any generic 50mm sun shade will fit the Athlon Argos? I was kind of surprised to find it did not come with one in the box and the branded ones are $29 or something. Are all sun shade thread patterns the same?

I can get one here on Ebay for $7 delivered.

The thread patterns are not all the same for example the 50mm sunshade made specifically for the Argos does not screw onto my Midas TAC 50mm.

You may order and pray it threads on.

Dang it's only $7 with free shipping I would order it anyway since sooner or later you might end up owning a scope it might thread onto.

I have a drawer full of sunshade and just because it's the same diameter they won't necessarily thread on.

Some cross references work via trial and error for example Swift sunshade and older Bushnell front focus Banner and Mueller and Weaver V16 and so on but you have to try all brands and literally try to screw them all in to see if they thread on.

They are custom-made solid foam sleeves that act as sunshades.

They can make one in any diameter.

Less than $15, and you could use them on your other scopes sharing the same OBJ size.

Measure the diameter of the objective lens. Go to the Dollar Tree and find a plastic bottle of shampoo the same size. Cut the bottom off and the desired length. Spray paint it black.

I woulda suggest cut a Pepsi can and spray paint it black inside and out then ziptie it over the objective bell.

I have the Argos and Pyramid Air has the sun shades specifically for them.
