Scope squeal Point

Okay guys all BS aside, let's hear where your squeal point is on purchasing a scope. For me personally it's about $500 I wish it was more but my budget doesn't allow it to be any higher ,but if it's a good enough and at the time I flush with money I'll pay up to $500 .Where is the point that you decide I can't go beyond this dollar amount? Y'all tell me I'm curious to see what you got to say

I'm a hunter and plinker, so don't see need for high end scopes. My limit is $300.00 and I have 4 SWFA scopes for about a grand. Looking for another right now for my R7 and I'm thinking of plopping down $79.00 for a bushnell.

It used to be $450 to $500 for the right glass, now it's $800 to $850 if it is "top shelf". When I retire next year, it will probably be $250-$300. Gotta eat!

I wish someone would invent a mount where you could easily switch scope from rifle to rifle without the need to site it in every time. If that happened I could afford $5000.00 fo a scope my one and only

I think $500 is about my squeal point also. Paid $550 for a Vortex Razor HD LH four months ago, only because it was 50% off from the $1100 MSRP. Still feel a little guilty about it..

My Squeal?
If I put a $400.00 plus scope on my Daystate. 
What will it get me?
I would really like to see an honest on cam review of these high dollar scopes against the rest for less.
I am going to buy another scope 24 power, I want to shoot long range. FFP is interesting to me. However
I like using the turrets, So FFP may not be worth the $100.00 plus.

I'll just declare the squeal point at whatever price the gun I'm putting it on costs. If I paid 300.00 for the gun (new) then I wouldn't hesitate to put a 300.00 scope on it.....if I fell in love with the scope.
I almost hate to say this outloud but there are a bunch of air rifles out there that could easily sell for 100.00 more than their average retail price.
Good Scopes, on the other hand, are about 100.00-150.00 more expensive than they have any business being IMO.

My squeal point depends on the rifle and what I'm doing with it. All my centerfire rifles have Leupolds in the $5-$800 range. At this point there is no way I'm spending $500 on a scope that I'm going to be (mostly) shooting 50 yards and under with. The Mueller on my 48 was around $275, the 34 wears a $170 Hawke and I'm satisfied with both scopes. They work great for what I'm doing, but would I want either on the 22-250? No.
