scope rings do not fit ?

 I have an old HW35 and the top of the rifle is a higher arch than new guns . New rings are flatter between the dovetail's so they do not reach the rails on the gun. I do not want to file the gun flat . Any suggestion's ?

Get the right rings or file/Dremel the ones you have to clear the rounded rail.

Some of the mounts from BKL, UTG will werq. 

Also the gun maker usually has their own branded style of ring that will fit the guns as well.

You might think about the BKL double, triple strap or the one piece BKL mount.

Not sure what mounts you have? but some have a adjustment screw in the bottom. If the adjustment screws are turned out to far they wont reach the rail.
