Scope Mount Problem w/ Benjamin Prowler .22

Hi All

New member here looking for some advice. I’m a long time shooter and firearms enthusiast but brand new to the airgun world. I recently purchased a Benjamin Prowler .22 and decided to update the scope to a Mantis 3x9x40 AO scope. I ordered a UTG accushot one piece mount which stated it fits an 11 mm dovetail. However when I got the mount I discovered the stop pin wouldn’t line up with the hole in the top of the receiver. The pin was off center. Can someone please confirm what the dovetail size is on the Prowler and maybe give me some advice on what one or two piece mounts with a stop pin that would fit? Thanks

Gene

the sad news is all dovetails are not created equal and that one from the pictures is fairly small but at PA it states 11 mm

so what is off center , the mount down set or the hole on the tube

so is the mount level with the rifle when mounted, that will tell you if the dovetail was formed correctly

now you have to figure out is the hole in the tube centered and if the mounting set screw is center

we all have a box full of things that didn't quite work out and most aren't worth sending back

you need to break out the tools and do some measuring and go from there or start shopping for another mount or ring setup

but first you have to see if the dovetail was placed properly

Yes I meant the hole in the receiver for the stop pin. I made some measurements with my calipers and as near as I can tell the dovetail measured around 11.83 mm or roughly .470 inches. The stop hole in the receiver looks centered. I should also let you know that the Center Point mount that came with the gun and scope has a stop pin/screw that fits just fine. I can’t use these mounts because the objective on the Mantis 3x9x40 scope I have is too large. So it seems to me that the problem is with the Leapers mount having a slightly offset stop pin.

I know I need to order a new mount but I just want to make sure whatever I order will fit.
