Scope for short distance 10-100yds max

Looking to stay under $200, mostly backyard plinking and squirrel/gopher killer. Vortex makes a few options and Texas Precision, I have a few scopes but they are low end. Wanting to put something decent on my first PCP -Kratos. Any advice would be great!

Tried the search function but seems most folks are trying to be a long distance sniper.

under 2 id get a westhunter 4-16 ffp ..i like the reticles on those, shim the rear ring with a little piece of credit card they do have limited adjustment range ..overall my favorite budget scope, and ive tried about all of them .. got a drawer full of them .. really though i cant recommend saving up for an atn electronic scope with a ballistics calc built in enough, put a atn range finder on it and it works wonders .. did this just this morning on a benji, its got a thor on it but the 4kpro is even better, got a much better picture .. but just to give you an idea of the effectiveness of a setup like that, watch the range as it calcs it and puts it right on the numbers at 60+ at a high angle ..

The 10-40 sentinel is great in that price range. For a few bucks more you can opt for the illuminated reticle if you will need it. It is a bit high on the magnification side starting at 10x but if that isn't an issue you will be glad to have the 40x at 100 yards. They also parallax down to 10 yards which will be important.

I Agree on the Westhunter. they have every single feature you'd want, 10y parallax side focus, IR too, even little extras like a scope wheel and throw lever. and very well priced, definitely good style of reticles. i have heard only good things from people who own them. considering getting one for myself.

the 3-12x44 is on sale on amazon for 195$

its comparable to a vector veyron which is also very light and compact. both are about 9.5" long and only weigh ~17oz

the new "gen 2" westhunter hd 6-24x50
(they also have the gen 2 in 4-16x50)
i recently got is a BIG improvement over some older westhunter's ive had.

glass is decent,
and seems very usable up to near 20x,
it surprisingly snaps into quick crisp focus which could be setup for ranging if you care to make a tape for your sidewheel,
great usable reticles,
clicks are quite decent and it tracks good.

and its under your budget at around $130ish

i really dig mine
and would vote it the best sub $200 FFP ive ever used.

SD,
Vector Veyron super subcompact scopes beat WestHunter for brightness and clarity, hands down. Own 5, four 6-24x44, one 3-12x44, WestHunter sits in drawer, can't stand blurry image around lens edge. Krale (Netherlands) has best VV price/availability, search website "Optics," "Rifle Scopes," scroll to "Vector Optics" on Manufacturer List. Tips on using Krale can be found in archives, make sure order form is for USA customers. WM

I have the Athlon Talos 6-24x50 scope mounted on the Benjamin Cayden. The glass is good and it will focus down to 10 yards. The reticle has great windage and elevation hash marks for hold over shots, for the further distances that you want. There is a 3-12x40, 4-16x40 and 6-24x50 give Athlon a consideration, I think you will be happy.
