In my experience',, the Vantage series scopes perform better - last longer on lighter recoiling rifles or pcp. I won't/can't say your 2-7 Vantage will break after a few shots or a tin(s) of ammo, but plant the seed of possibility of failure in your head.
Some things I learned from other shooters over my years about scopes and spring guns...... Keep your reticle as close to optical center as possible - Springers (can) tend to have barrel droop, adjusting ONLY the reticle to make up for droop puts added stress on the internal adjustments, that stress + recoil can shorten the life of a scope. A droop compensating one piece mount and/or minor shimming of the rear ring will keep the reticle closer to optical center and more stress free.
My R9 sports a Nikon EFR in a one piece mount and the rear is shimmed with a piece of plastic coffee can lid. My grandsons' R7 and HW30 wear Vantage 4x scopes also shimmed.
Good luck with whatever direction you choose.
