Scope for Benjamin Maximus

I put a Hawke 2 x 7 x 32 on mine. It's only a .177 but I plan on shooting 25 to 50 yards with it like you.

I usually prefer a bit more power past 50 yards like 12 or 25 as my eyes got old when I wasn't looking.

Here is a little info mostly on scopes I have purchased.

The Hawke Vantage 2x7x32 is probly the best $100-150 scope you will find out there and has that wonderful reticle as well.

The Vector Optics Veyron and Discovery VT-3 scopes are both compact and lighter weight scopes in 3x12x44 with 30mm tubes. They are both decent for the money around $200 and both Mil/Mil scopes so none of that funky Hawke Mil/MOA stuff going on. So there is some give and take between the two and I like them both for what they are.

If you are going for an FFP the Veyron has a pretty thin reticle and it can get lost in a dark background at lower magnification. But it does focus down to 7 yards at full 12 power so that is not often a problem although your FOV will suffer. It weighs in at 17.6oz and has a nice Mil Hash reticle. It is available in a 2nd focal plane scope as well.

The Discovery will just barely focus to 10 yards if you turn the power down to 6 but it has a thicker reticle that is easier to pick up at lower magnification so it is not a problem either. It weighs in at 18.3oz and has a nice Mil Quad reticle. These are also available in 1st or 2nd focal plane.

The Alph6 4.5x27x50 is in the same price range with very good glass and a very good scope for the money as well. Like the Veyron the reticle is a bit thin, for my taste, though.

For a bit more money the Immersive prism scopes are very nice. I bought a 10x40 and absolutely love it. Airgun or non-recoiling guns as it has very little eye relief.

For the last compact scope I found this USO TS-12X unit. It is much more expensive than the other compact scopes and the quality shows. It has better lenses, better turrets and a flawless finish. Once again it is an FFP scope so the turrets do get a bit thin under 6 power. Shop around for a better price I picked mine up for under $400

Retail price is around double this. Unbelievable scope for $72 or $80 shipped with a life time warranty. Don't buy the refurbished ones selling for $60 else where they only have a 30 day warranty. It is cheap enough at only $72 or $80 to appreciate what it is and not getting ripped off unlike some other scope brands.

30 mm side focus with 10 yard minimum to infinity. Relatively bright and clear in my opinion compared to anything in its price point. I have one on a light to medium recoilling spring gun and another on a PcP.

You will also need this since the included rings are picatinny. You can buy up to 3 sets for the best deal and keep them for later guns. You can make seller an offer too. You should offer less since there is that option right there.

If you want to spend $135 shipped this one is good too at the best deal price and it's the last one. You will need to buy your own 1 inch 11mm dove tail rings for it.

Rings if your rifle doesn't have a rear sight.

Unscrew or remove the scope stop pin before installing.

If your budget is more for a scope here's a significantly nicer scope on sale for half price.

You will need $8 picatinny to 11mm dove tail adapter above from eBay.

If you can afford a $500 scope budget then either of these are superb.

.

The AIMS Alpha 6 mentioned above is a nice scope too for $201 looks like it is on sale for almost half price. Brightness and clarity about the same as the Sightron S Tac and zooms out to 27x magnification for the long shots don't need a spotting scope to see the holes in your far out targets. Life time warranty too.

Several compared its glass clarity to much more expensive scopes.

Got one in a trade deal but haven't mounted it yet it's a very nice scope with high magnification and illuminated reticle with 10 yard side focus.

Probably be the best option for the 75 yard shots for target shooting and it starts at 4.5x magnification in up to 27x.

You don't see that much degree of 6 times zoom in any other scope in this price class that's for sure. All other 4.5-27x50 scopes are priced way more expensive.

I got spoiled with side focus scopes with 10 yard minimum. Hard to go back to the front focus AO scopes.

I personally don't recommend Hawke brand optics as a matter of personal experience based on reliability issues with multiple scopes. I still use some that still functions okay until I replace them sooner or later with another brand. Their accessories such as scope base adapters with adjustable moa elevation seem fine.

Rings 30mm if you buy the AIMS Alpha 6.

Biohazardman appears to have a bunch of scope rings for sale rather cheap too.

Many of the Hawke brand of scopes are on sale at DVOR and Camera Land NY if you prefer to buy Hawke brand please pay as little as possible for them. You not going to feel as bad when they fail. They will eventually fail sooner or later. Been using Hawke brand for years. Before little other choices. Now it's fair game just buy the brands with best warranty and least complaints.

And don't get ripped off. Always buy on sale.

US Optics TS 12 on sale DVOR $349.

Buy it for the US Optics brand life time warranty over the Discovery and Veyron only got 3 or 5 years.

US Optics on sale at DVOR too.

Another good deal but 20 yard minimum focus selling for less than half price. 2 steps up compared to the Vortex Diamond back Tactical. Actually retails for $699.
