Scope custom turret

I want to ask you what you think of this Vortex XBR scope.

This scope was developed by Vortex Optics for the long range crossbow shooters 2 years ago.
I own one and have a lot of satisfaction using it.
The lenses quality is fantastic in low light conditions and very good contrast and colours out of it.
It was priced at $699.00 and you can get it for $250.00 because Vortex abandon the product.
It is a life time total warranty.

If I read that right that means at 25 yards it moved the point of impact 1/4" (1/2" at 50, 1" at 100). To me, that's a big jump in adjustments. I'm using scopes with 1/8 MOA turrets.

I also used 1/8 MOA turrets. But with the pellet drop we have with airguns I find that 1 MOA at 100 yards is very interesting.
So it give a lot of elevation margin for long range shooting for a total of 86 MOA = 48 per rotation.
For hunting at 50 + yards it is quite good and quick.

100 yards for me on my 37 fpe .22 is 120 1/8 clicks (about a rotation and a half of the turret). That's about as far as I expect the .22 to go...and the .25 to take over

With the Vortex if you have a 12 MOA drop at 100 yards that mean you have only to turn the turret with 12 clicks. So a 1/4 of a turn on the turret.

Yea, but you could miss by up to 1" with that one click. If we were pitching 1" pellets, you'd still hit what you are aiming at, but pitching .177, .22, and .25 it's nice to be able to do one click and know the pellet's diameter will still hit at 100.

If I miss up to 1" that mean I only have to do one click at 100 yards.

What I meant by that is your cross hairs could be exactly correct (not likely) at 100 or it could be off by 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or 7/8 of an inch. If you are off by more than 1/4 inch you will have a clean miss with a .22 rifle.

The round is .22 and an inch is 1.00 so 22% chance a piece of the pellet will be on target and 78% chance it will not if you shoot with the cross hairs where you want to hit. That or you will need to know how much hold over/under you will need at each click vs just dialing the cross hairs right onto the target.
