Scope Covers

I need some flip up scope covers for a Athlon Midas BTR 2.5x15. 

I have some Buttler creek that I found in a bin that fit. The front stays on but the rear cover slips off sometimes when sticking in the gun bag. Has any of you found any that fit nice stay on and are functional. On my Field Target rifle I have a Hawk Sidwinder and I really like those that came with it. I only shared that so you would know what I like.

Put some black electrical tape on the rear to tighten the cover.

Someone on here posted a while btack that if you contact Athlon they will send you covers. Be worth a shot.

For what Athlon charges for their scopes, they should include scope covers like most other manufacturers.

I agree From what I read, they'll send them free. I haven't tried it yet though. Don;t have an Athlon yet. lol Gonna get a Midas though pretty soon.

Maybe i caught Athlon on a bad day but they told me to check with MKM for scope covers for my Helos! I'm not upset with them as i knew when i purchased the helos it didn't come with scope covers. I just said thank you for your assistance and looked at MKM but decided against spending another $75 for the covers; just using my sleeve from another scope that fits.

Maybe a bit bigger than what you're looking for... but to keep dust and dirt of the scope (and the rifle), I kind of like the full-rifle cover.

- Easy enough to make if you have access to a sewing machine and some fabric... or $15 on fleabay

I called Athlon today. I was hopping if I ask if I could buy a set they may offer me a set. But they told me they don't make or have any for Athlon the Midas BTR 2.5×15. I knew before buying the scope it did not come with caps or covers. So I am not complaining. 

On another note, I have had caps from Leupold, Sightron, Weaver, Bushnell, Nightforce, Burris. I like the covers on my Hawk Sidwinder very much. Go figure.

Sme of my Athlons came with caps some didn't. I've called about the availability of caps, they sent them free of charge.

My Gen. 1 Helos came with scope covers that did not last long, I use the bikini style cover that came with my Aztec.

Yeah, they're expensive at $20 each but I like the Vortex lids. They flip up straight or lay flat and have the same warrantee as their scopes, lifetime.

They work well for me.

I have MKMs on my Midas Tac. Wanted some for the Helos BTR Gen2 but they didn't have the correct sizes and takes awhile to get them made. I had some Butler Creeks in the safe from a previous scope that fit. The rear one was a tiny bit loose. Stuck painters tape on the inside and now fits nice and snug.

Honestly, I use an old sock on my Athlon scopes. The covers just get in my way.

There are some other options out there, besides what has previously been reported, that might work. I have not used either-

I bought one of the Vortex eye piece caps. It fits nice and works well!

I did that and got no positive response. I think Athlon is pretty cheap about providing lens covers. Most every other manufacturer does. The cost to them is next to nothing compared to what we have to pay for aftermarket covers.

I agree with you @jps. But. Since playing with air rifles I have purchased 3 Sightron big sky’s (still have them) a Aztec, 2 Hawks (kept 1) 3 Leuphold EFR’s, a Nightforce NX8 a couple Bushnells and have swapped several off my firearms to try. For “MY” eyes this is the best so far. I do wish it had just a little more zoom.
