Scope Adjustments Shooting at 50 and 100 yards?

I zero my (SFP) scopes in my 12/13 yard, crawlspace range. This distance is not too far from the scopes optical center.

- When I go to the range, the above 12/13 yard distance is pretty close to being zeroed at 50 yards - give or take 5-10 clicks.

- However, when I go out to 100 yards - depending on which scope (1/8 or 1/4 clicks) on my RAW (20 MOA rail), I need between an additional 35 and 75 vertical clicks to re-zero.

My Athlon 10-40x56 scope has a Total of 45 MOA of vertical adjustment:
Do 70 to 85 (1/8) clicks above the scopes Center represent an amount which compromises accuracy at 100 yards?

What do most shooters do?
- Dial up 80/85 clicks ...
- Use holdover ...
- Use adjustable scope mounts to Center scope at 100 yards...

Any Insights from 100 yards shooters would be appreciated (y) .

I just got my Athelon, so I'm a newby at ranging. It was set at 25 yards when i got it, and I re-zeroed it to 72 yards, my max range at the moment. Since then I found a ballistic chart for pellets, and entered my info and snapped a pic of it, so that I can experiment with ranging, and using my MOA reticle.
According to this chart I would be .31" high ar 12 yards at the moment.

Thanks Toasty:)..... that immediately gave me the answer:unsure:

Since my Athlon scope has 45 MOA of Total vertical adjustment that's 360 1/8 MOA clicks. The scopes center is 180 clicks, leaving 180 clicks of further upward movement before it's maxed. If I need to go up an additional 80+ clicks to reach my 100 yard center ..... so that's 44.4% maxed outo_O.

How much is too much for the scope to be accurate?
