Scammers Took It To A New Level Beware.....

Ok that's a pretty big clue right there......so two things to look at..... if you have an Android the non google play stuff is loaded with virus.

Secondly if you are different wi-fi and posting to the forum and spoofed wi-fi connection could be another...... public places and airports are loaded with stuff that says...."Starbucks Free Wi-fi" and things like that...... you do get wi-fi but it's though a computer or phone that is literally copying everything you do.

One of the reasons I'm moving my airgun business off of ebay are the organized criminal gangs starting to operate on that platform that know every single scam and loophole in the book. It's still somewhat safe to buy on that site but for a seller it like being in a Mad Maxx movie.

I have not tried a sentence on here, but on a computer or critical accounts I use this technique:

Sentence example:
My dog just learned sit!

If spaces are not allowed:
Theneighborisadrunk#123
I use...01010011 01110101 01110000 01100101 01110010 01100011 01100001 01101100 01101001 01100110 01110010 01100001 01100111 01100001 01101100 01101001 01110011 01110100 01101001 01100011 01100101 01111000 01110000 01101001 01100001 01101100 01100101 01100100 01101111 01100011 01101001 01101111 01110101 01110011 with a wild card.

Sorry this happened to you Matt, never like seeing friends dealing with this stuff. Sucks when this happens. Scammers are always improving faster and faster and it can be hard to keep up. The forum “family” response is what matters and build off that strength to keep the scammers at bay as best we can.

So I changed my password to something super long and complex that only my computer would remember and enabled 2 factor authentication. I actually didn't realize there is 2 factor for this site and I think Michael might want to have an educational thread or video about it. It's MUCH better than even super long and complex password, all my banking/financial apps and sites have that enabled. Stay safe on the internet!

Good call @qball . I never noticed it before--maybe it was a recent addition? Downloading Google authenticator right now.

If I find some extra time this weekend, maybe I'll make a walk through on enabling.

How do you think they got, or figured out your password?
My intentions here are to educate the righteous in order help them stay safe. Unfortunately in doing so it also informs criminals to learn a new way to do wrong. Six in one hand, half dozen in the other. The best way to beat these are to use a password longer than 12 characters.
