This may be controversial but maybe we should have two designations for our hobby. For those of us old timers who like the small bore pellet guns, they should be called pellet guns for .25 cal and smaller and the larger calibers be referred to as airguns. I think when most people here think small caliber when they hear the term pellet gun. Just a thought.

Every time I have gotten involved in a hobby for the last ten years the government has stepped in with regulations of said same hobby which effectively killed my interest in it even though I am far from any city with MUCH acreage in unclassified airspace. Where I am located most would simply ignore the regulations and continue on unhampered in their pursuit of the hobby, however, I am duty bound to obey government regulations by a much higher authority than any government or ruler in this world.
Looks like another hobby and lifelong pursuit will soon be ended once again by the necessity to regulate those (usually in areas of too much populace) who cannot or will not regulate themselves. :(
