Saw some airgun friends (and thier airguns) Saturday,

I'm not currently shooting FT but still find it well worth attending just to see friends and get the latest on all things airgun.
I learned the Grand Prix rules now call for all full size targets past 40 yards, that would increase my Hunter class scores perhaps as ranging with a 12x past 40 is tricky if not impossible and knowing the KZ size might help if bracketing? The Big yearly Heflin AL FT event is again canceled, the Cajin's are next weekend and several friends will be attending. Stoeger pellets actually are pretty good, I had no idea. Somone got a really good deal on a Sightron 10050x60 scope, always nice finding a good deal and face to face is always the best. I sold a sidewheel and saw some very nice new design sidewheels that were cnc printed. Generalkly just had a great time!

Jeff seen here shooting his HM1000 was nice enough to stop by at 5:50am to pick me up,

After nearly 4 years Harold finally got the finishing touch's on his Steyr ,

Folks on the sight in range,

Steve checking his original left hand TX200 ( no MK ) with custom Walnut & ebony stock,

Nice old fashioned P70 with a few tweeks,

Charles just picked up this old style USFT Hunter from another local shooter,

Jim likes to customize to suit himself,

Larry likes to keep his rifles factory issued,

Can you say, squirrel hunt?

One of my favorite targets, max magnification,

David knocking them down,

Firemarshall with his TM1000,

Roz with his BM500, ( had a three man lefty squad this match)

Larry firing his latest TM ( HM?)1000,

Dottie clearing lanes,

I think Steve was our only piston class shooter,

Charles with his new rifle,

Danny was on a 2 person Steyr squad,

Harold seemed to shoot very well now that his rig is a finished, ( I hear the Blue makes it shoot better?)

And more more more but I'm a bit tired still.

It IS always worth getting to a match, great people. advise, deals, just one of the best times one can legally have.

Hope everyone else had some fun too.

For those more interested in completion, copied from Pat's report:

Good Ole Boy’s match – 3-5-16

Saturday turned out to be a great day for FT with 11 shooters. Good to see Steve Vines back. He just changed jobs and will be able to make the weekend matches. John Blount and Jeff Hale also were able to make it from over around Murfreesboro, TN.

We won’t be shooting at Roz’s Hollow this weekend due to several going to the Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge. Hope to be back on schedule in April.

Harold Rushton was also back and managed to shoot a top overall score of 54/60 and tops in WFTF class using a Styer, Leopold 35 Comp scope and JSB 7.9 pellets. Danny Ayers was 2nd in the WFTF class with a score of 43/60 with another Styer, Sightron 10-50 scope and 7.9 pellets. Dottie and David Slade tied for 3rd place in the WFTF class with scores of 36/60 each. Both used FWB P70 rifles, JSB 8.4 pellets, but Dottie used a BSA 10-50 scope and David used a B & L 6-24 scope.

Steve Vines was the only Piston class shooter and had a score of 35/60 using his trusty TX200. B & L 6-24 scope and JSB 7.9 pellets.

Charles Garvey was 1st in the Hunter class with a USFT, Aeon 12X scope and JSB 10.3 pellets. Larry Cleveland was 2nd in Hunter class using a TM1000, Hawke 12X scope and AA 10.3 pellets. Jeff Hale was 3rd in Hunter class with an HM1000, Aeon 12X scope and AA 10.3 pellets.

Roz Sumpter was tops in the Open class with a score of 51/60 using a TM1000, Sightron 10-50 scope and AA 10.3 pellets. Jim Bauman was 2nd in the Open class with a score of 47/60 using another TM1000, Sightron 10-50 scope and AA 10.3 pellets. Pat O’Brien again brought up the rear with a score of 22/60 using yet another TM1000, Nikko10-50 scope and JSB 8.4 pellets.

I do hope I have found part of my problem and hope to help my scores somewhat. Everybody has been telling me that it was cant causing it and after putting a level on the scope, I actually spent some time on the range Sunday and have seen some real differences. It really was an eye opener seeing what such a little difference it can make.

Well, we’re off to the Gulf coast early Friday morning and looking forward to another Cajun Classic. Looks like it may be hit or miss depending on what Mother Nature has in store for us. Hopefully, a lot of that Texas hot air will blow the wet stuff on out of the Cajun country in time for the match.

Hope to see you on Friday,

Pat

It always is a ton of fun!
This was at the GOB Field Target club in Pulaski TN,

I really recommend anyone who passably can attend at least the big 2 day shoot in May. There should be shooters from al around the U.S. maybe further. And Roz's place is a shooters paradise with the potential for three 12 lane courses. Lot's to learn but even the education cant match the fun.
