It’s Saturday night and I’ve got a fever. So I’m dedicating this thread to all things Disco.
So, tell us your story and show us your Discos. The OG of budget PCPs. Was the Disco your first foray into the dark underworld of PCP? What crazy over the top mods did you do to your Disco? Do you bottle feed it? Does it sport a multi shot breech and shrouded barrel now? Did you turn it into a hard hitting, bone crushing, critter thumping big bore or is it a fire breathing long range slug shooter? Did you turn it into your first budget field target rifle? Does it even resemble a Disco anymore? Don’t hold back. There’s no judgment or shaming here.
So, who’s still shooting their Discos in 2020? Post up
Here’s my Disco. No, not my first PCP. My second though. When I realized they were being discontinued I decided to get one just because. The Disco is a fun little project gun and I just added little bites at a time. Spent more on it than what a sensible and reasonable person would have or should have. But that’s fine. It’s a HOBBY after all and doesn’t have to be reasonable or sensible to anyone else. 1st mod was to install the Challenger trigger because I couldn’t stand the OEM trigger. Had to replace and upsize the breech screw because when I took it apart the first time, I found that the threads in the tube where stripped out. That was fun. Added a 3rd barrel band closer to the breech to backup my breech screw mod. Upgraded the valve screws and convert the Disco to 3K psi fill. Huma regulated to 90 bar. Hammer spring adjuster and tuned to about 650 fps with the JSB 15.89’s for about 15 fpe and a ton of shoots. Budget friendly Hawk 3-9x40 Vantage scope stacks them JSBs through a 1/4 – 3/8 hole within the 20 yard limit of my backyard. The TKO keeps the Disco suburban neighborhood backyard friendly. I like the slimness of the TKO vs the big fat cans hanging on the end of the barrel. Just a personal preference. The DonnyFL Benjamin adaptor allows for the TKO to be removed for a more convenient gun case storage. Have one last mod that I’ll probably do this winter and that’s to add a 2nd gauge to monitor the fill pressure. Got the parts just haven’t taken the time to take it apart and get it done.
Here’s the last incarnation of mine. 18” barrel in .22 with baffles inside a tube length BNM shroud with their repeater breach, a 1701/prod trigger, and an RAI stock adapter with a mil spec m4 tube and stock.
I picked up a .25 barrel with the thought of converting it but have stalled out on that project and now it sits in a pile of parts waiting for me to get some help or put it back together.
