Been having pretty good luck lately, so I was stoked Saturday morning, as the weather was nice, not much wind, and the little bit of rain we received took a little of the crunch underfoot.
-Well, to be blunt, I didn't see squat - I'm sure a few saw me, but dang, to not even see one, is somewhat rare. I also noticed I didn't see any fresh cuttings anywhere. The drought must have effected the mast this season, or maybe just this spot is done, but I couldn't help but snap some pics, it was a lovely morning -
Went back to the same WMA after my shift ended at the driving range, a round 4:30 or so. Had the 2240 Sporty Shorty with me. Barely got into the woods when I spot some activity in a pignut tree. What a difference a day can make. I sat in one spot and waited, and my patience paid off. Nothin' beats stumbling upon a den tree on a late fall afternoon for a squirrel hunter!
Thanks letting me share my tree rat safaris -
