Santa brought me a new Aeon 8-32 x50.

I have to get some rings now for my new scope this is my first 30MM scope so no mounts on hand. I also got a new scope level that mounts to the rail. The scope is pretty heavy but so is my gun a RAW HM 1000 .25 cal this should complete this package really well. My old Weaver 4-16 is now looking for a new home. I must find a new gun to fit under it LOL.

 I went with the BKL double rings, you certainly could get away with less but they work well with the Aeon ( 10-40x) and Hm1000.

My Raw has the new picateny rail the scope has a 50 MM objective will medium height rings work? They have a chart on their web sight but I think it was designed for their older rails but maybe it is the same. I want to order some rings.

Gundog I use the UTG medium quick release rings on my HM1000x .25 with my Aeon 8-32x50 and they are perfect. They just clear. Any lower and the mag will hit. http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Max_Strength_30mm_Rings_Medium_Weaver_Picatinny/4921

Mine has the Picatinny rail. Ring manufacturers don't all measure their rings the same of course. So medium from one company may be different from another. These UTG's measure .6 in scope to top of pic. rail.

Your welcome gundog! Glad I could help.

Muskrat mine is dimmer at 32x and does loose a little sharpness but that's kinda normal for high power scopes. Its only an issue when shooting in dim light.

Tammy's 10-40x IS clear at max power, very nice scope.

Hi Jeff, you are correct. That a scope gets dimmer at 32x is because the scopes' exit pupil has become smaller than your eye pupil. 
Even the most expensive hi mag. scopes are experiencing this exact same phenomenon. 
Sharpness is another story, expensive scopes will keep their sharpness, regardless of magnification.
