Sacramento Valley FT September Match Report

Three new shooters braved the course at Sac Valley FT today!

Weather forecasted to be warm with very light wind, we were unsure if the wind would pick up so we set a medium difficulty course. Setup took a little less than 20-30 mins including sight in targets with plenty of help from early arrivals. This is always appreciated!

18 total shooters came and shot the 60 shot, 15 lane match, we had one forced position lane position lane with the option of taking one target kneeling.

A majority of the course was in the 25 yard + range with probably 25% of targets as a distance less than that. A few 3/8" KZs pushed to near max distance were a great test of ones stability and how good your clicks/ data was.

Three new shooters running loaner guns or sharing a gun with a buddy. Jon Z, Terry W, and Erick S came and played our game with us with smiles on their faces. A few left with more questions than they had before it. Getting new people involved really helps our sport, if you have a friend or meet someone who might be interested in learning to shoot, wanting to become more accurate, or someone who wants to play a fun game of precision whack a mole tell them to come out. Most match directors and some shooters have a spare rifle and are willing to get a new shooter going.

Lots of close competition, with the forgiving winds there was no shortage of great scores!

After the match a large majority made quick work of clean up, stacking blocks, taking down the targets and winding up lines. We placed some sighter targets out, as well as quadrant targets for people to setup and play. 10m guns came out, high power guns came out etc. Motorheads custom .30 marauder running over 90fpe was smashing rocks out past 100y with ease.

Cameron is a force to be reckoned with with a 12 fpe springer!

Yea in my estimation Cameron K has worked harder on his game than anyone else who shoots with the SVFTC. While we can't weigh his efforts against other outside our area, his efforts in not only Shooting skill but for Air Smithing as well being he does his own tuning work.

I commend his efforts and humbled by his success in a FT world that's dang near overtaken by PCP's.

 You got the right stuff buddy !!

Cameron’s hard work and dedication gave me the best excuse for my mediocracy! Thanks Cameron!
