Sabre Tactical FX Impact Adjustable Buttstock: Weight??

Can anyone tell me what the weight is on these? Thanks!

Not the ST but I thought it would give you some idea...

There is. Unfortunately, that piece for the Impact looks much larger than the piece on my Crown Saber chassis, so I didn’t have a perfect answer for you. I figured that was still different and still wouldn’t be perfect information, so I was hoping something was better than nothing.

I was trying to get you something since it didn’t seem like anyone with the Impact has seen the question.

Ahh.. no worries! Donny replied to my email, total weight on that thing is 11oz. I may wind up prototyping my own to see if I can come up with something closer to 5-6oz 🤔

Thanks. I had the KLS-1 on an MKII a while back, I'm guessing that Sabre buttstock is even heavier

LOL I have the same buttstock and scale!

Would weigh less with the vertical rod removed. I would remove it when hunting in the woods. The Sabre does not have one included. So the weight posted is not a fair comparison.

I just ordered a KLS-2 from talon Tunes. According to their website he still has one in stock. I went with the KLS-2 because it looks like it has more vertical adjustment on the butt plate & included the vertical adjusting rod, not optional like Sabre. I am not sure if the butt plate cants on the Sabre, if that matters. Since I need 15.5 inch LOP, I usually modify/make all my butt plates my self. Hope I will be pleased with it. Talon Tunes is charging more for the KLS-2 over than the Sabre. Thanks for posting weights. They should post weights in their ads.

I scored one of these from PBA. The weight of the Sabre unit on my scale is 10.55oz.

@Nutcracker, yeah it doesn't cant. Just has the two axis movement and the top part of the pad adjusts back and forth in several different positions. I don't really see anything but the first two positions being practical though.

I really wished the butt pad could be raised up higher independently of the mount. I can't get this thing positioned right where I need it on my Maverick. Using an EOTECH with a G33 magnifier.. the eye relief sucks, so I have to plant my eye right behind it to get a full sight picture.

I can just about raise it up high enough, but that upper mount rod/extender has to be fully extended outward to get it up that high. That makes it worse, since I'd have to bend my back forward just to use my optic.

I could chop off 2" of that rod, and mill out the mounting piece so there's room for the factory thumb screw, but meh.. The Maverick rail is too far forward for this thing to be practical for me (unless I can come up with a modification that will work).

@ MountainGhost, I know what you mean. The most important thing to me is that i get my rifle set up perfect when I put the butt on my shoulder my eye & cheek is perfect w/o further adjusting. The second most important thing for me is LOP. When you get those two things perfect, you can shoot anything good. Then it is a pleasure to shoot, everything feels natural. Some people seem like they can live with a rifle that does not fit, bad as wearing jeans that are too tight.

Exactly! Your post motivated me to test a mod with this Sabre unit. Problem solved with a 5/16" stainless bolt that I cut down with my lathe (52.8mm):

Happy with it now. I get a on the eye relief naturally setup like this. The extender mechanism still works. I needed it still for when I'm running NV..

If anyone else dies this mod, have some propane at the ready for the little set screw and the rod removal (both are Loctited in place).
