RX2 scope Mount

The RX2 has a larger scope stop hole then most guns, does any one know of a scope mount with a stop pin that will fill the scope stop hole in the receiver, I would prefer no slop.

Looks like about 242 thousands I know its metric.

All the force will be towards the rear, so any slop wont make any difference. If you are worried about it, just drill the mount for a bigger pin.

I have made brass bushings to take up the size difference between stop pin hole diameter and the stop pin diameter.


If you are limited by tools, your outside dimension is close enough to .25” that you can probably get brass rod stock at a hardware store and file or sand it to size while it is chucked in a drill. Then drill the correct size hole through the bushing. Being perfectly concentric is not essential, as you can rotate the bushing to have the stop pin hole along the centerline of the receiver tube.

I have welded a smaller one and turned it down. this could snap or break if it dose I will try the brass bushing Thanks for the info.

Not sure why you think an exact fit is needed. Most of scope creep is usually rearward in direction. So having the stop pin completely fill the receiver hole isn't necessary. When I install my mount ( whether it's rings or one piece) I exert a slight rearward pull as I tighten the mount down onto the dovetail. That keeps a positive pressure of the stop pin against the rear wall of the receiver hole.

I to like a brass filler to precisely fit the hole. Less damage to the receiver hole. I use brass and slightly off center the hole. The stop screw in the rings or mount is never perfectly centered to the receiver hole so the offset hole allows for this difference.

I've been doing the method I described above for years on Diana and Weihrauch rifles and never had any damage to the stop holes on the rifle. Much of the damage caused by the stop screw is at the bottom of the receiver holes. And that's from overtighting the stop pin. After tightening the scope mount down I put maybe 1-2 inch lbs on the stop pin. Some people use a thin flat plastic washer cut to size and place it at the bottom of the receiver hole to prevent damage.
