RWS Diana 45 - Challenger 6100

Did some pellet testing with the old Crosman Challenger aka Diana 45 Old Style in .177. I used to have one in the mid-90s with a Simmons ProAir 4x32AO that was a good field gun so when I saw one for sale I picked it up. I replaced the spring with a Titan, added a Mantis 4-12x40 in Sportsmatch mounts, and a Diana Pro muzzlebrake. At 10 meters with the rifle rested the H&N FTT and JSB Express can put 3-5 shots in a dime. At 25 yards the groups open up a little, but can still print groups covered by a quarter. The group of the day was a 3-shot group with JSBs measuring one hole. I tried duplicating it and managed 2 in one with the third close by. I need to figure out the hold for this rifle and might do some offhand target shooting. Overall I'm happy with the results and plan to use this rifle for informal silhouette and light pest control. Next time I am going to use a Clearidge 4-14×40 with duplex dot reticle.
