RWS 34 Meisterschutze Pro Compact Detune?

So in my search for a new backyard plinker (that means it needs to be backyard friendly sound wise), I've come across the RWS 34 Pro Compact. Has great reviews on accuracy.

However, I would want to downtune it to 12fpe or under. Anybody own one and has done this?

I had one and installed a 12fpe kit (I don't recall if it was ARH or Vortek). It was a much nicer shooter after this. That muzzle break is heavy, but I really liked how it added to the stability of the rifle, especially for offhand shooting. The trigger can be adjust very nice too. Great shooters at a good price.

Just for comparison sake take a look at the HW50 and see how that compares to the cost of buying the RWS 34 and then adding a tune kit. I’ve heard good things about the 34 and I’ve heard great things about the HW50. I have an HW30 and it is very very nice.

Did the 12fpe kit quiet down the gun to backyard friendly levels? Heard mixed things that in factory form, the 34P can be loud.

I had an R7 / HW30s that I like but parted with a while back. I'm contemplating another HW30S or this 34P.

I don’t have experience with the 34 but if low noise is a concern I can say that my HW30 is perfect for backyard duty. The pellet impact on target makes more noise than the gun. I also love the mild cocking effort and very light recoil. I shoot mine with a rear aperture sight mounted on the scope rail and I’m amazed how well I can shoot it. I got the deluxe model from AOA for $289. I sound like I’m a salesman. Since you had one you already know how wonderful they are.

I owned a 34 Meisterschutze, now I own a HW30, HW50, and a R9(HW95)

I would recommend any of the three before the 34.

HW50 is my present favorite, perfect size and power.

If you want a gun the size of the 34, go with the HW95.

AOA used to have a really good price on the HW 95 / R9,that would be my pick ,most of the noise is loose guides so you could even just make some tight guides or have a set made ,same for the 34 .kelly
