I'm getting ready to tear down my 34 and do some deburring, polishing, re-lube and install a PG2 Vortek kit. I guess you could call that a tune (minus any trigger work). Before I do that though, I wanted to see exactly what velocities it is shooting now. The accuracy has been phenomenal with this gun, no complaints there at all. After chrono testing it today, I am very pleased with those results as well. Here is how it performed.....each string was 8 shots.
Crossman Premier HP 14.3g RWS Super HP 14.2g JBS Exact Jumbo Exp. 14.35g RWS Super Dome 14.5g
High 728 High 739 High 686 High 726
Low 717 Low 727 Low 675 Low 714
Avg. 722 Avg. 733 Avg. 681 Avg. 722
ES 11 ES 12 ES 11 ES 12
SD 3 SD 3 SD 3 SD 3
It seems to be fairly consistent. Don't really know why the velocity of the JBS Jumbo's dropped off as much as they did though. Not as heavy as the RWS Super D's but slower. I'm gonna test some more pellets soon, before I work on the rifle. It'll be interesting to me to compare current numbers with those after the work is done. I love this RWS 34....very accurate rifle.
