RWS 34 .22 cal tuning ???

I purchased a RWS 34 about 12 years ago and would like to service it and lube everything, should I replace/upgrade the spring or purchase a tuning kit (not familiar with these). As for optics is there a specific type that are better suited for an air rifle?

I am in similar boat! Watching this thread. Mine was purchased (model 36) in 1987. And is starting to sound and feel a lil rough.

I have tuned several RWS 34's and if you are going to take it apart I would advise buying a tuning kit. The parts are better than the stock version and you'll have a superior shooting springer with a tune kit over factory.

Looks like we will need a spring compressor, I would try do a DIY, looking for plans.

The ARH Maccari kit and the Vortek are about the same in an RWS 34 in my opinion. You do need a spring compressor. You can do it without one if you're strong, but it's a pain to do without one. I also use a set of punch pins and a Dremel to polish out the rough ends of the tube.

Are the kits interchangable for .177 and .22?

Same kit in full power configuration. There are also 12 foot pound kits, which are much easier to install without a spring compressor.

Thank you I did not see a .177 or a .22 version and did not want to assume.
