RWS 34 .177 trigger adjustment?

My rifle came from the factory with both trigger screws turned all the way in. Where will my starting point be or am I safe to turn both all the way out? The instructions I got off the forum talks about turning them clockwise. I left the 2nd stage all the way in and loosened the 1st stage 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Still long 1st stage and barely any 2nd stage. Any suggestions welcomed.

I have not written any instructions on setting the T06, perhaps I should, LOL!

It's not that hard because the T06 is one of very few triggers that can be adjusted OUT of the gun.

Looking at the gun from the buttpad:
Front trigger regulates WHERE the trigger breaks
REAR trigger regulates how much weight/displacement the final second stage will present to the finger.

So, first of all, decide WHERE you want the trigger to hit the second stage by moving the FRONT screw in the trigger blade in (displaces the second stage location to the front), or moving it out (displaces the second stage location to the rear) .

THEN adjust the second stage screw (rear screw in the trigger blade) to break as cleanly as possible. Moving the second stage screw IN, will create MORE second stage (weight and displacement), moving the screw OUT will reduce the second stage till the point, where it can even disappear and you end up with a "rolling trigger" with no second stage.

OK, then you either have that rear screw either too far out, or too far in.

Try turning it out completely, then without the gun being cocked or loaded, pull on the trigger to the end.

Now screw that rear screw in till you feel some resistance.

Now back out two full turns

Cock and load the gun and see how the trigger feels, more often than not, you will still not feel a second stage.

If so, then screw by half turns till you get a second stage.

Then back out a half turn and then go in by half turns

Repeat with smaller and smaller increments till you are satisfied.
