RWS 34 , .177 Best Pellets ?

The tricky thing is that even among the same make & model of gun, sometimes, they prefer different pellets.

I was reading a 6 part article on the TX200 by Tom Gaylord over on the Pyramyd air blog, trying to discern the answer to the same question. (but with the TX200)

A lot of the pellets his readers' rifles loved, his didn't. He didn't even finish up a 10 shot group on some of them. I tested probably 10 different pellet types last night, and came up with different results than Tom. Some of the results were not what I expected:

RWS pointed pellets keyholed! (I didn't expect great accuracy with them, but I expected them to remain stable in flight...)
CPL, which Tom's gun likes, were just OK in mine.
CPH, which were just OK in Tom's gun, were the top pellet in mine, etc.

Best advice is to buy a variety pack of pellets from straightshooters or elsewhere and shoot a few groups with each one.

The RWS 34 is a mid-power springer, so mid weight pellets will probably shoot best. JSB is always a good place to start, but don't discount H&N Field Target Trophy (and Trophy Power) or the Beeman version of it and definitely don't discount the humble CPL. (Crosman Premier Light.) My Stoeger X20 prefers them by a notable margin to JSB Exact, Exact RS and Exact Heavy.

Yes, I agree. I've had my 34 for some years now and tried a dozen different pellets before settling on the JSB 8.4 at the time I got it. I just wanted to see what everyone else is using, knowing there would be a lot of different choices, but it would be nice to see if there was a couple that are used by most.
