Running low on squirrel supply

I’m running low on the supply of squirrels. The first few days they were coming in 3’s and 4’s. Now this week I hadn’t seen one in almost a full week.....I’m almost in a state of panic like Brexiteers on March 29th looking for bread at the store...

On that note, like WW1 is anyone planning a ceasefire on Christmas Day? Lol

I Almost ran out one year after killing 147 in 1 year in my yard. I went to "squirrel-con- 7" and built 5 squirrel houses.. put them up on all corners of property.. small 3/4 acre lot. Kept feeder full of peanuts and sunflower seed. surrounded by an empty lot and city park.. about 4 months later targets were back..

PS: I don't live there anymore and boy do I miss that place..

Lol that’s brilliant I know the feeling

im on a 1/2 acre lot, not near a park or conservation land but there are a fair few trees around

maybe like you say feed em and breed em

i have two bird feeders with mixed bird seed, and corn. But I’m wondering if they are shying from it a bit, it’s near the door of my garage and my dog, and even though he doesn’t bother them maybe they are wary .... also maybe having it near the garage and not a natural place like attached to a tree could be the issue too

I’ve noticed that the later it gets in the season the less I see. They tend to spend more time in their nests.
