Ruger Mark IV Pellet Pistol

I’ve got one of the new springers. It’s ok accurate at 15’, mine prefers crosman round nose pellets. I had to do a lot of work on the trigger to get it smooth.

What did it take to get the trigger to settle down? The trigger on mine is so stiff that I can’t tell a thing about accuracy because my sight picture gets ruined as I struggle to fire the doggone thing. I have decided to take it apart and see what the problem is. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Mine had a piece in it connected to the trigger assembly that I completely took out. It cause the trigger to hang up and be very very stiff and I have no idea what it was suppose to do. I also polished the areas where the trigger met the sear. It was much better and has gotten even better with usage. I’ll try and take a pic of that part tonight if I remember. The pistol functions fine and it didn’t affect the manual safety or the safety of the firearm. Of course, I’m not advocating taking parts off as YMMV.
