I had a very similar experience with my Ruger Air Hawke elite. I ended up giving it away to my neighbors kid because I couldn't stand it anymore. Basically, It ended up like this - I knew I could count on NOT hitting whatever I aimed it at. lol Best thing about it was how comfortable the thumbhole stock was.
I think it's the Ruger line which, if I'm not mistaken, is made by Umarex.
Thanks of the video, JWR!

Well, that makes it @joewaynerhea 1, cheap Walmart guns 0. I was working up a pretty good huff when Joe shot the Ruger off a gun rest - everybody KNOWS that magnum springers MUST be shot using the artillery hold. Then Joe went and burst my bubble by doing just that and still getting a Jackson Pollock result. Nice work, Joe!

Funny thing, I just took delivery today of a gun I ordered off of the Walmart online store. One of the venerable Crosman F4 Classics in .177, only this one comes with a detuned nitro piston shooting at 595* fps per Crosman's claims. I want a quieter gun for the sake of my much closer neighbors now that I'm deeper into suburbia, and the increased safety of low power is a big plus as well. Since I'm not a hunter and just want it for target shooting and possible plinking when I'm out in the country, the lower velocity is perfect for me. I'll post once I've had a chance to try it out; I'll include a comparison to the Gamo Recon G2 Whisper I received from MidwayUSA at the start of the week. That little Gamo is a joy to shoot with open sights.

* Looked at the package and found Crosman claims 695 fps for this detuned NP. Knowing how their claims actually work out, I still think my expectation of a hundred fps less is realistic.
