Rubberizing stocks

Hynzie, keep us posted on what you come up with. I have been considering the same thing, assuming that you are wanting to do it for durability purposes. I had been leaning towards bed liners like oldspook mentioned but have started to think that an epoxy coating with some silica grit for grip could work well too. If you went with clear epoxy you could keep the stock material visible depending on the grit you use and how you apply it to the epoxy. If you didn't want to use grit at all, I'm sure you could stipple it or otherwise rough it up without too much trouble. Possibly even checker it if you have that talent. It wouldn't be rubberized if that was the look and feel you were shooting for but it would be durable.

***To be clear, before I get lambasted, I'm not suggesting anyone does this to one of Martin's original stocks or any other original for that matter. Do it on a blemished stock or over an inferior material that has far less value.
