RTI PROPHET , we need to set guides for barrels and guns used.

The Prophet I Standerd, The Prophet I compact, The prophet II Standerd , The Prophet compact II
The barrels really get confusing Most compacts have the 400 or the 510 mm barrel, LW or CZ barrels new barrels will not be out until april of 03.
Now I am not sure of the big bottle RTI Prophet I have heard some of the Prophet II have been released with the new pellet slug barrels , People need to put down what gun they have what barrel they have keeps me from getting confused .
And the FX people just thought they were confused , LOL

Well they did receive 24" new LW RPB barrels as they sent me one by mistake. I would have been able to test it, except all I had was a 20" shroud. Just curious how much the dual transfer ports make a difference over the single port. I did slug it while I had it and it was pretty smooth. Just changed my order for the last 20" CZ barrel since my other CZ barrels do so well.

Hey Mike,
I’m pretty certain I have specs for all Prophet V1s for 2021 somewhere, they were all Lothar Walther barrels since 2021 - with the .22 and .25 calibers have the proprietary slow twist rate (RPB) polygonal barrels.

Here are the specs for Prophet Performance v2:

I do not believe that the RPB barrels are the slow twist.
The Lothar Walther long range barrels are though and that is one of the reasons I went with Prophet performance instead of the Prophet II.

RPB barrel twist are .22 1:16 and .25 1:20

RPB means “RTI Proprietary Barrel”.

Both the Prophet Performance v1 and v2 barrels have Lothar Walther RPB barrels in the .22 and .25 calibers.

The .177 and .30 barrels are Lothar Walther regular barrels (not proprietary to RTI).

The Prophet Performance v1 barrel in .22 has a very slow 1:32 twist rate. The slow twist allows it to keep pellets stable at high speeds. It’s optimized for long range pellet bench rest competitions.

The Prophet Performance v2 barrel in .22 has a faster 1:16 twist rate. RTI made the change to accommodate slug shooters. Slugs are spin stabilized, pellets are primarily drag stabilized.

The PP v2 barrel will NOT keep pellets stable at the high speeds that the v1 barrel can. The V2 barrel should shoot slugs better.

The above is not my experience. For the V1‘s I have owned other than the 1:32 twist LW barrel designed for the monster redesigned all other barrels were CZ. The V2 was offered and the only RPB barrel available was in the full size performance. Even though the V2 Compacts were shipped they had 20” CZ barrels instead of the RPB that were paid for. With all that the CZ barrels are very hard to beat. Slugs I cannot speak for but they shoot pellets

The information I provided on both V1 and V2 Prophet barrels was for full-size Prophets (non-Compact). I purchased my Prophet Performance V1 in early 2022. I own multiple caliber barrels and researched this extensively. So, I’m pretty certain that all full-size Prophets (V1 & V2) that are 2022 came with Lothar Walther barrels - unless someone custom ordered a CZ barrel for a full-size Prophet.

I don’t know what barrels were used in the Prophet Compact v1 and v2 rifles. I do recall seeing that some were CZ and some were LW - depending on caliber.

Mike - they've pushed them all he way out to April now? ( that's apparently what you've heard from somewhere? ) Ughhh. Bummer. ;-( I've got two full size PP1's - a .22 and a .25 and I'm really wanting to slap one of those new barrels in at least one of them.

Yup been on the hook for a 20" LW RPB since Sept. They actually sent me a 24" LW RPB and a 20" shroud, which I already had. If they had sent me a 24" shroud like I asked, I could have at least tried the barrel. They had me send the wrong items to Monte in Utah and informed me of the delay on the 20" LW RPB, March/April 2023. I changed my order for a 20" CZ. All my other CZ barrel have been great so this one should prove no different. It is currently in transit to me.

My little compact 22 Prophet II shooting so good , I thought I would order a long range 22 barrel for my Prophet I , I dont really shoot a lot of long range if any really but maybe send some pellets out to 50 yards at some fast FPS, Any way looked at the price wow pretty steep, Think about it for a while what the heck, Go to buy it and the 22 long range barrels are all sold out , Got a question to RTI when they will be back in stock price still a little steep, Little under 500 bucks , We will see what turns up,
Like to here from a few that have the long range 22 barrels shoot pretty accurate at warp speed,
Mike

I would like to know about
Prophet I Compacts in
.30 cal.

(1) How long are the compact barrels?
(2) How long is the compact .30cal gun OAL?

(3) How much power is typical for a .30cal Compact?
(If you can indicate if you have the Performance or Regular model, and what regulator setting, that would be helpful.)

For the record:
My Prophet I Compact Performance .22 purchased in 2022 has a CZ 400mm barrel.

Thank you!

Matthias

Mike, Try Airgun Heaven. I ordered a LW long range barrel from them, was under $300 including shipping. They are in the Netherlands, so it took about 2 weeks to arrive. RTI seemed to want stupid money for them when stock was getting low, over $600!

Got my 20" CZ .22 barrel today and the 24" shroud. The shroud had screw marks like it was used but no big deal. I compared my 16" CZ barrel to the 20" and the 16" seemed nicer. The transfer port was more oval and opened up, it had laser engraved CZ .22 5.5mm. The new one was just stamped 5.5 and the transfer port was only drilled. Will open it up before installation. The 16" is a prophet compact version from a couple years ago.
