RTI Prophet Performance inital impressions, one sharp gun!

Update;

AOA offered a full refund a couple of solutions, they said as long as within the 30 day window can get a refund. I feel bad for Daren having to deal with an indecisive female, poor man, he had some solutions, will attempt them. On the plus side the Prophet has already drawn first blood on one of natures most diabolical creatures, an adult human female.

I will be responding to @Orion for some parts to get this sorted out. I think on QC it might just be industry wide, I have a pair of the new generation of Pythons from Colt, one is no sharp edges, the other has an edge on the cradle that had to be polished. Have a pair of long range Hawkeyes by Ruger, one has a bolt smooth as silk, the other feels like an arthritic knee.

In conclusion, AOA goes above and beyond, 100% recommend them, RTI... well they will be getting an Email.

I am a recent owner of a prophet .25, I cannot figure out the sharp edge or edges everyone is referring to that might bet sharp enough to cut. Can you post a photo or describe in detail? I don’t want get bit unexpectedly.

Two things I can share about mine so far:loud with either a Donny fl sumo or a trident moderator. Tack driver so far with factory setting up to 75 yards equipped with the Odoyle special Alpha 6 using jsb king 25.39 , shot shouldered with a bipod.

I will take images once done with work, if I take them now will lead to scope mounting, and back yard annoying the neighbors... Then work would suffer.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations with your new Prophet. Mine is arriving Monday so I am following your thread with interest. I was drawn to the Prophet by the outstanding accuracy demonstrated by the reviews I’ve watched, shear power, ease of adjustability and the unique 1:32 barrel. Please post a picture or describe where the sharp edges are located on yours. Thx...

Here are the areas that are sharp. The red pen indicates areas that are sharp enough to cut if pressure applied. The only real area of concern is at the magazine port.

You must be new to PCP’s. No gun is perfect no matter how much you pay. You find one that won’t cut you and it will leak right out of the box. You find one that won’t leak out of the box or cut you then it might have a creepy reg. Welcome to the sport. I would rather deal with a sharp edge than a chronic leaker or a gun that has to be babied to keep its POI. Good luck.

I am new must be obvious :) Fire arms not so new to. A sharp edge can be addressed. It's like fire arms, bought a 4" and 6" 2020 release Colt Python, they both are smooth, both accurate the 6" is with out flaws, the 4" had a sharp edge on the crane (fixed it with a bit of jewelers polish) but I get it. Just like buying a house, there will be something that needs to be addressed.

So far so good on everything except the sharp edges.

Thanks for posting those pics. I will check mine tomorrow after it arrives. Have you poked any holes in paper yet?

I did, borrowed a Geissele TANGO 6 mount with a US Optics X12 and ran it yesterday. The shot count and accuracy were great! Looking for plastic parts to mitigate the sharp edges. I ran the L2 yesterday first time I shooting both, I am impressed. Did not fire a round thru any of my powder burners, had too much fun on the air gun range.

I’ve had over 40 pcp’s and I can say that when you spend over $1k that you should expect that gun not to cut you. It’sa known problem with the RTI guns and really wouldn’t be that expensive for them to correct. Why make excuses for them?

I never made an excuse, just an observation about the difficulty in finding a perfect gun. My Impact won’t cut me but I could grab the bottle and fold the barrel up over the receiver if I wanted to. The edges on my RTI are not dull but they never bother me. Must be something in the process when they stamp them out. If mine were any sharper, it would have to be addressed for sure.

Sorry but I am drawing a blank. What is a L2?

It's a Leshiy 2

The image is just for reference it's not mine

Thanks for turning the light on. Duh, feel like it’s a dumb blonde moment or more appropriately a silver gray senior moment.

I get an over 55 discount so don't feel bad! I just have been fortunate and am well preserved, must be a life of junk food and pre-embalming. I am really enjoying the PCP's might need to pick up another springer. Has come a long way from my Daisy Golden Eagle, Red Ryder, Cross man pump.
