Just for kicks I thought I’d try some WalMart Crosman Premier Ultra Dome 14.3s in my Prophet Performance .22 today.
I did not want to mess with my current tune for JSB 18.13s (925fps - into one hole at 40 yards).
So, I just shot the 14.3s with my current tune - they zeroed exactly 5 clicks down at 40 with my Midas Tac scope.
You can see six 10-shot groups on this card. While not fantastic, most shots fell inside a dime. I also was able to hit a few of the dividing lines on the larger target.
It gets more impressive when you consider that these Crosman were screaming at about 990fps (!).
The long range, slow twist rate pellet barrel on the Prophet 1 Performance .22 is amazing at keeping pellets stable at extreme high speeds.
I may pick up a Prophet II .22 barrel for my Prophet I - but the slow twist (32:1) barrel on the Prophet Performance I is a classic barrel.
