RTI Prophet Performance .22 with cheap ammo

I have been shooting JSB 18.13s and H&N 21s with my RTI PP .22 - tight sub-dime sized 10 shot groups consistently with reg pressure about 93 and hammer spring backed out flush. For kicks yesterday I tried a few shots with lighter weight, cheaper cost pellets that I have on hand. This barrel is insane! I didn’t touch any scope adjustments and it shot the 1st five shots using H&N 15g Baracudas on target - at a screaming 991fps. These 5 were within a dime - barrel didn’t seem to need to “adjust” much. Certainly not as tight as the 1 hole groups I get with 18.13s at 45 yards, but this was 991fps !

So, then I threw some CPHP 14.3s in it, and shot 10 shots. After the 1st 3 or 4 shots they started grouping! At 1,025 fps!! And they were dead center on target. This barrel seems to be able to keep any pellet stable - at any speed - even the rock hard, short length CPHPs at over 1,000fps.

I’m gonna play with it and see if I can shoot a 10 shot group within a dime at 45 yards with CPHPs going over 1,000 fps.

It’s cool to have a gun this simple and with these ease of adjustment that can shoot anything well. Blasting beer cans at 100 yards shooting cheap WalMart ammo over 1,000 fps - with quarter sized accuracy - crazy !!
