RTI PROPHET COMPACT II 22 caliber CZ barrel stuck

I got the barrel out with vice grips on the RTI tool and a lot of force, Scratch marks on the barrel by the two orings, A few metal shavings also very fine, I am not putting the barrel back in, Just way to tight..
Cleaned everything up and the 177 LW barrel snugged right in, I will see if I can post the pictures up tomorrow.
I will get a word into RTI and see what they have to say about this..

From what I can see I would check the TP hole and grub screw hole for any burrs. It only takes a couple thousandths between barrels to make one catch on something and one not. I would also take some calipers to both barrels and compare dimensions in a few key areas. That info in itself will give more credibility to the email you plan to send to Rok.

Hi Mike,

I have 2 full sized Prophet Performance v1s - a .22 LR and a .25 LR .

I swapped the .177 LW barrel into the .25. The standard RTI PP v1 spring is 2.65”. The hammer weight is 30.65g in both my rifles.

To shoot .177, I picked up an extra spring when I bought the .177 510mm barrel.

I cut the extra spring and flattened the end - it is now 2.46”. I use this shorter spring when I’m shooting .177. This enables me to dial down the velocity a bit with .177 using the hammer spring adjuster screw.

I’m shooting 10.3g JSBs at 885-895 fps with the reg at 85 bar.

This was the best of about 5 groups I shot recently - this was outstanding but all groups were well under a dime at 30 yards. I was dialing it in at 30 yards to use it in the “30 Yard Challenge” on this forum, lol.

Good luck with your new LW RTI .177 - maybe this info will help you get it dialed in.

How did your CZ barrel shoot btw?

OOPs I just got a e mail from RTI , I screwed up and called my Prophet a Priest , So I just explained that I read so mush about the guns I just called it the wrong name...
They did have a record of me just buying the Prophet PP II compact... I really need to proof read what I send , I did send more pictures of the barrel and told them I really do not want to sand it down with sand paper, Just not comfortable doing it. I could send the barrel back to them and let them take a look at it on my I would pay, They would be out nothing.
Mike

I just sent my 3ed Email to RTI , I informed them I would pay to ship the barrel back to them to take a look at it, I sent more pictures to show the marks on the barrel, I sure do not want to take sandpaper to the barrel, When I have to start fixing RTI problems it's when I stop buying their products.
Mike

Not sure if I should copy and paste there post here, But in a nut shell RTI said they would give me 70 euros and I could keep the barrel,,No The gun is under warranty I want the barrel fixed or I want a new barrel. I do not think this is to much to ask for a 2000 dollar gun. I got hold of AOA and ask if they would honor the RTI Warranty .
Mike

If you’re not comfortable with how RTI is handling this, I would talk to someone at AOA. And I mean talk, F emails. They should guide you in a direction. When I bought my first RTI, pretty much before anyone even noticed them, I had an issue. I dealt with a dude named Rich at AOA. He handled things great. When I had an issue with the second gun, the gen 1 adjustable reg, AOA didn’t have a cure so I direct dealt with RTI and they were great. They have grown since then with a ton more guns out there acting up. If their newest model is having some issues hopefully their CS won’t suffer with oddball issues like you experienced.

Vetmx Thanks,
I think I remember you from T A G and your Prest you bought....
over 10 years in PCPs and never delt with any warranty, Well except on my Vulcan 177 I complained about a twang, And AGT sent me a hammer, spring and a weight and some other parts free just sent it to me, They were reading the forms .
I have bought three or four guns from AOA always super good, I will give them a call and see what they say,,
