RTI Prophet Compact 1: .30cal: ❓How much power are you getting?

RTI Prophet Compact 1 Performance

.30 cal:

❓How much power are you getting?

I would also consider a Priest 2 Compact Performance!

Please, would you share some real world power specs with me for the Compact .30cal?

🔸️FPE will be helpful —
but if you have the regulator setting, projectile, and muzzle velocity — so much more helpful!

Thank you! 😊

Not the compact but PP1 , Reg 130 bar 600mm barrel 940 FPS with 49. gr NSA slugs, Only tried to 48 yards and I was impressed , My PP2 Compact can easy match the power of my PP1, Trust me I have seen what the little gun can do with the Reg set at 130bar shooting 22 caliber with 510 mm barrel 33gr pellets at over 1200 FPS didn't test accuracy to dam loud. Did it once just for grins.

A RTI with a compact .30 barrel would be an ugly gun to shoot. Especially if you are trying to shoot a 44gr at speed. You would have to lean on the gun really hard and the shot harmonics between the high reg, high hammer and heavy projectile would wreak havoc on your consistent accuracy. As the caliber and projectile weight goes up, barrel length is your friend. Even I switch to a 600mm barrel when shooting 33.95’s out of my .25 RTI. Reg is lower, hammer strike is more relaxed and the gun easily sends lead down range.

Mike,

yeah, that PP2 is really calling my name...! 😆
Thanks for the data.

Frank,

like is typical for you, you offer more than what's asked for: 😊

Thanks for those comments — yeah, I did wonder what the implications for precision would be to shoot a .30cal with an "abridged barrel" of only 400mm.

I wasn't expecting to get a MV of 900fps out of a 45gr'er....
More like 750fps — requiring a mere ME of 56FPE. 😉
That's why I made the OP, to get a better idea of the gun's capabilities.
🔸Do you (or anyone else) have any comments on shooting a .30cal at such a power?

Again, thanks for the warning, Frank, I might have to rethink my OAL-requirement and add 100mm....

Yupp, @Vetmx — I did add those 100mm. ✅

Got a Prophet with a 510mm barrel instead.
And a balanced valve: ✅@Mrshosted explained the big difference to calm down the shot cycle.*

After years of .177 and .22 calibers — I'm excited about having made the jump over .25 (thanks to @mtnGhost ) — and to enter .30cal territory.

The difference between a P1 and P2 is when you start going up in reg pressure. The balance valve and light hammer seems to keep the P2 from getting too crazy with vibes. The only drawback with the P2 is the cocking effort. Because of the featherlight hammer, it takes a pretty good spring to send it. Fortunately it doesn’t translate into a harsh shot cycle. But no matter what Prophet you have, the .30 makes for a jumpy gun. I shoot my gun in both .25 and .30. The .25 with 33.95’s is way easier to shoot at long distance than the .30. I was getting mad about how the .30 was shooting at 100 compared to my .25 when Bigragu told me to strap some ankle weights on the bottle and see what happens. My gun shot way better at 100. I’m not going to turn my gun into a porker to shoot at 100+ when the .25 will do it as is. So my .30 will be my medium range hunter. It’s good out to 75 with no weight strapped on it.
