RTI Prophet 2 Performance .177 Accuracy

To the owners of the Prophet 2 Performance in .177.

Are they as good accuracy wise as their .22 kin folk?

I own a P2 Performance .22 Tuned by Francisco 2.0 and absolutely love the gun.

Which leads me to the P2 Performance in .177 questions.

1) accuracy straight out of the box with the normal barrel cleaning of course?
2) pellets versus slugs in stock form, and what weights are you seeing the best out of the gun?
3) Which barrel are you using?

I have read where some are changing up the port restrictors and such, i am primarily wanting this as a pellet shooter.

In the end i would love the gun to replace my FWB 800 FT 20J , I know what most will say but, in the end, having 2 RTI's would be more of a consistent feel instead of the Huge difference in length and weight of the FWB.

I am aware of the instances of the valve issues in the early P2 guns and that most Now have the latest Gen 4 valve, including my current .22 which has been flawless for over 3500 rounds.

I appreciate the info you provide.

In closing i have given thought to waiting for the P3 but god only knows when it will actually hit the streets ...

I have two PP V1s — .22 and .25. (both 600mm)

I bought the .177 barrel kit (510mm). The .177 barrels are the same on the PP V1 and V2.

It takes 3 minutes (I timed myself) to swap calibers.

I did take out the delrin spacer (spring guide) in the hammer when shooting (.177). This is another 3 minute job. This reduces hammer spring preload and allows for lower velocities when shooting .177 (I also use just 85 bar regulator pressure when shooting .177).

The barrel kit sells for about $300 with the barrel removal tool, which you will want.

I don't have a P2 in 177... I do have a P1 compact I originally bought as a 25...then bought a used (lightly used) 510mm 177 barrel which is currently on it.. I had to remove the aluminum spring spacer as well as lower the reg pressure to get a better range of adjustability to get pellets to shoot on...and I mean "on"... My barrel doesn't like anything under 10gr pellets.. it prefers them to shoot 850ish... Later i done some polishing to get it tuned to shoot 13gr slugs (JSB or zan) which do shoot almost as well as pellets... Throw in some wind and anything past 80 yards and the slugs take over the accuracy..

A few of the UK guys are happy with the P2 in .177, 12 ft lbs level.

My Prophet 1 compact has had the 510mm LW barrel fitted a good few months. Currently set at 18 ft lbs with Zan 10g and JSB heavies.
Transfer port restrictor fitted, 3mm hole.
I'm happy with the set up.

My P2, currently .22 but I have bought the LW .177 barrel. It's the same barrel just muzzle end ring has slightly larger holes to work with the assisted valve.
Barrel has had a polish, intention, try some heavier .177 slugs.

Incorrectly, I assumed the P2 had the same size transfer port as the P1. It hasn't.

P1 is a M7 thread in the TP, prophet 2 is a M8 thread.
So until I prepare another set of TP restrictors, various sizes of ports. My laziness stopped play, to be honest I've been enjoying the .22 experiments.🙂

When I set up the P2 in .177, I'll post a update.
