RTI Rti mora .25 / AEA 49.2 gr master slugs

Rti mora .25 600mm @ 50 yards 5 shot groups. I ordered one tin of new aea master slugs 49.2gr to try out. I had some decent groups shooting at 925fps. With shipping they are approximately $0.14 per round. Altoros 60gr are what I have been shooting but cost $0.28 per round with shipping. The altoros are a better slug but these master slugs are a decent round at half the cost. Im definitely going to order more and try them at different speeds and dwell setting. These slugs are currently available at fox air and Utah Air

I'm not really a slug guy, but since AEA was kind enough to send me a few tins of both the 30.2s and the 49.2s I have begun playing with them. My initial response was not very kind, but after playing with the 30s for while I found they responded well to a relatively low 2nd reg pressure of 100 bar and 11 holes (that's how I measure the dwell from closed) on the dwell which gave me 965 fps a standard deviation of 2.6 and overall G1(BC) of .091 over 25 shots. This produced 1MOA groups at 100 yards which I would scoff at if they were pellets, but I guess that's pretty good for slugs at the shorter end of their range.

Thats not bad at all! I believe im about 1.5 turns in on the dwell right now and around 145 bar with the 49.2 gr. I was shooting them at 925fps today, they still need improvement. I had wind this morning so I can't fairly judge today's performance. I need to get better at dialing in the dwell valve and learning when to stop.
