RSW Super dome pellets

Today I bought 10 tins of RSW super dome .22 pellets at my friend's pawn shop for $40 I've never bought these kind before but couldn't pass on the deal.

Have any of you had any experience shooting these?

I shoot them, they work good in all my air rifles, fact is I use them first and then go from there because they work better than most...that said I do find the RWS Meisterkugeln even better in some of those same air rifles.....

You did good,it is a good pellet for me.

Good to hear. I'm going to give them a try this week in several guns.

An above average pellet in my experience.

Seldom the very best but never the worst.

Agreed.... Quality made in my home country.... 😄👍🏼

However, the BC is far below average.... 🙄

BC's of domed pellets of similar weight:

BC 0.012 — RWS Superdome 14.50gr

BC 0.019 — H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66gr

BC 0.022 — Crosman Ultra Magnum 14.30gr

BC 0.023 — Crosman Copper Magnum 14.30gr

BC 0.025 — JSB Exact Jumbo Express 14.35gr

BC 0.026 — H&N Field Target Trophy Power 14.66gr

BC 0.030 — H&N Sniper Light 14.04gr

For example:

Shooting my PP700 in a 5mph wind out to 32y would make the JSB Express drift 1 inch.

The SuperDome would drift more than double that (2.2")!! 😟

BTW:

❓ Has anyone tried the RWS SuperField?

Odoyle, 😊

as long as a pellet isn't accurate, BC doesn't really matter. 👍🏼

Like you said, BC does not guarantee us accuracy, meaning small groups (precision). 👍🏼

However: IF I have several pellets that are accurate in a certain gun, I find a pellet with a high BC vastly superior to one with a low BC, as it keeps my groups smaller even in windy conditions, and as it delivers more energy to my target.

And as I increase my range, the importance of a high BC increases.

Matthias 😊

NTrig,

the BC info on the .22 RWS SuperDomes is low all around.....

So sad! 😟 Such a high quality manufacturer — but clearly focused on 10 meter target shooting, not long range nor hunting.

➔ (No wonder in the indiscriminate anti-gun climate in Germany.... 🙄German airgun laws read like they were drafted with unsupervised 6-year old boys in mind.... As in: Hunting prohibited. Maximum power 6FPE. My lowly gun produces 5 times that amount.... Gun licenses are as easy and inexpensive to get as box seat tickets to the Superbowl the day before the game.... 😖 )

🔶 I'm so glad that though H&N is from the same country, they are taking a completely different route:

A huge variety of hunting pellets. 👍🏼

And just recently high quality slugs in 5 weights and 2 diameters, 6 cents a shot (.22cal, others in preparation). They have always responded to my emails in a helpful way and very quickly, and they are posting right here on AGN. 👍🏼
