Is there is typical life expectancy for breech seals on the Royale? I'm probably getting one or two tins of pellets between blowouts. I'm just curious how this compares to others...
Apparently I was typing a similar response as you at the same time. So +1 to ya."Menttaliist"For some reasons many Royale .22 owners are having that same issue with the stock o'ring, you can do either one of two things: buy 10 polyurethane o'rings (the stock ones) for 20 bucks in amazon and keep changing them every two tins, or try other two with the same size but differents materials and hardness.
If i where you this is the o'ring sequence i would try since if you start with a too hard o'ring from the begining that may damage the pellet skirt when entering the barrel:
- pur70 (polyurethane, the one that comes as standard)
- buna70
- buna90
pd: if you like i can share with you the amazon link to every one of those as i have already bought them, they worked perfectly
Oh thanks"Dirte"

I would not recomend that as the silicone can enter the barrel affecting your accuracy."Mrshosted"Try using some silicone grease on your probe once and a while. FYI don't get carried away less is more. Silicone is great for rubber.
I've never had any problems, In fact I've had less problems with the breach seal leaking and wearing. Now As I stated "less is more" I sure if a person was to get carried away you could have a silicone mess all the way down the barrel. With that, to much it could affect your accuracy, but so will a leaded dirty barrel. I'm sure the silicone grease could collect lead, but the idea is to use only what you need to lube the probe and preserve the Oring. To Clarify, I use a tooth pick with a dab of grease on the end, spread evenly over the probe. Wiping away any extra or build up. Leaving only a sheen of silicone on the probe."Menttaliist"

Even if it doesn't, when the pellet passes through the o'ring with silicone it can affect it as well
The thing is the stock o'ring isn't rubber but polyurethane, it's designed to resist the friction with the pellet probe and the problem isn't that the o'ring is getting damaged but blowed out. It may help tho as the o'ring will have less resistance to the probe, but it will require to be wet at all times and that's not practial at all"Mrshosted"

May if these where worries for you,try using silicone in spray on a q-tip. Moisten the Q-tip with the silicone spray. Carefully wiping down the breach Oring when finished shooting for the day. Allowing the silicone to preserve the rubber, a small amount time will flash away any unneeded products.
You can see if the oring is sealing properly by putting a little sheet of paper in the breech block and shooting, if it blows the o'ring is leaking. You will see a notorious increase in ES as well"Widget23"Question - what's the indication that the o-ring is not sealing or doing it's job?
According to the FX parts list .22 is the only one that calls for a polyurethane breech seal. Does your .25 have a white (poly) seal or black (buna)?"Glem.Chally"I've had about 1900 shots down the pipe in my FX500, so far so good.
