Royale 500 to Patriot Wildcat,

I had them satin white then I thought maybe a darker red so I’m going to see what these look like on the PWC when I get it Friday. If they look ok I’ll strip them and do some prep work so those lines and marks don’t show and then re paint them, this is just for a color check but maybe the aluminum rail mag holders will look better on the Patriot but I’m going to leave the one for the stock like it is maybe.

I really like how the Wildcat shoulders and how light it is, I know there are a few other nice bullpups out there but this one is mine, take the mod off and it’s the same length as my TavorX95 but lighter which is nice, I can finally get off the bench and do some small game hunting.
ive been looking at one of the Hydrodip sites and they have a few other patterns that have caught my eye for my BullDog and BullBoss and the cost for the kits isn’t really all that bad....
Its opening deer season tomorrow so I have my Caldwell gun rest, Savage 308 with 150 grain all ready to go, we’re supposed to get 1-3” of snow tonight and by the looks of my driveway on the security cameras we’re getting it, should make it real good for hunting tomorrow, just need to get my buddy heater into my deer stand and running early enough not to spook the deer.

Looks sweet, Imold! I'm tickled to see my Magholders on that Patriot Wildcat :)

Matt
I had them red but it didn’t look quite right so I went back to black and it looks better, I left the stock holder red but it’s not as noticeable as yours, I’m thinking maybe the natural alum might look good als, it’s a hit and miss type of thing but other then that I like them.

Congratulations Imold! I am always happy to hear about someone getting a .25 Wildcat. I believe you will fall in love with it and will have a ton of fun with it. I have a couple ideas to share with you also...when you are walking in the woods you will probably be shooting quite a bit offhand, so I suggest you mount the lightest optic possible that will give you the amount of magnification you require. And an illuminated reticle is also a must on an overcast dark day in the woods. The idea is to keep her as light as possible.

In regards to lubing pellets I will tell you what I do and you can compare it to the method described by likkitysplyt. I clean all my pellets with acetone and dry them on paper towels - acetone evaporates almost instantly and removes any wax, paraffin, oils, or other junk used in the manufacturing process. Then I spray just a little Napier Power Pellet Lube on them. It is absolutely amazing how much your groups will tighten up - usually by at least 50%! No bull! It is expensive though...$15.00 for a little spray bottle that contains 1 ounce! I have tried almost everything but I have never tried the Shooters Choice FP10 gun lubricant, so I just ordered some from Midway USA to try it out. It has always irked me to pay $15.00 for just one ounce of Napier but I have never been able to figure out what exactly it is.

As for pellet choice the JSB's are the winner hands down. In the woods you will probably not be shooting out past 50 yards so I think the 25.4 gr. Exact Kings will work great for you. Enjoy!

All the best, Chuck

Thanks Chuck, I have close to 10K in JSB 25.4 pellets being I have a few other .25 cal Airguns and I’ll order that lube and give it a try, I went and topped off the wildcat to 230 bar and the fill probe leaked, I released pressure and pulled the probe out and tried it again and it still leaked under pressure so now I’m going to try a dab of silicone grease on the orings (very very very small dab)and see if that helps, I did order a machined one piece probe and foster filler off eBay last week and it should be here Tuesday or so and by the pic it looks like they are using 4 orings not the normal 2 on it, I also compared the FX fill probe to my 2 Hatsan fill probes and the only difference is the placement of the airhole in the side, there is about a 1/8” difference in the location and without looking I think the FX probe airhole was centered between the 2 orings and the Hatsan was offset a bit....
Anyway I have some more deer hunting to do tomorrow with my PB Savage 308 but I’ll try to get some shots off with the Wildcat to but if not I’ll definitely shoot it this upcoming week.

Thanks Crusher, Seems like you should be getting it back soon then, I don’t have much for pests around my home thanks to my 2 cats and it seems my Jack Russell/Rat Terroir has kept the striped gophers and squirrels at bay so I have to go out to my other property where my shooting range is if I want to shoot anything. Hopefully my HMx 357 will be done soon so I can get it out yote Hunting after deer season is over in my area.
