Regarding 10-shot rotary style magazines for PCP's, is it best NOT to have any rounds in them for a certain amount of time so that the internal spring does not weaken? I have a Gamo-type that is used for the .22 BSA Buccaneer and am wondering if I should leave the magazine without any rounds loaded until ready to use. Thanks

ive found the spring to be less of an issue than the smoothness of the internal pellet holder, so yeah you can leave them loaded .. its beneficial to disassemble, smooth and debur that holder with like 600, and clean everything up now and then ...

A...properly...heat treated material, that is called a...spring...will NOT be damaged by leaving your magazine fully loaded for extended periods of time (years).
A spring that was not properly heat treated, will mostly be weak, and "may" over much extended period of time, loose tension.
Internal heat (VERY rapid cycles) and external heat (over about 500 degrees) will...damage the springs in air gun magazines. A pair of plyers, a hammer, a vice, etc. will all damage these small springs.

P.s. - Spring..."wear"...from rubbing on another object, is a completely different subject.

Springs wear by compression cycles, not from having a load on them.
Guys have shot loaded Glock and AR mags that have been loaded for 20 + years. Worked with no issues.
